This past weekend, I was enjoying a nice weekend in Philadelphia. In Miami, that same weekend, one of the biggest music festivals was going on. With the #1 festival in the world (as per the DJ Mag) being this past weekend, a lof of the EDM community was excited and ready to “get the party started.” This past weekend, I heard a lot of new music from the top DJs –as UMF (Ultra Music Festival) is the premiere place to play their new tracks that they are going to release soon.
The #1 DJ in the world played a great set this weekend. Martin Garrix played a lot of his well-known tracks, but also played a lot of new tracks. Some of his new tracks came from STMPD Records (his record label).
Hardwell….what can I say. Hardwell’s whole set from the intro to the final song was –in just one word– AMAZING. Hardwell played a lot of progressive house but also played some different styles during his set. Hardwell showed how good of a DJ he is, and how he enjoys different genres of EDM. He played progressive house, bass house, trap, and a lot of banging mashups; and some new music from Revealed Recordings (and himself). I can’t wait to see what Hardwell has in store this year, from Revealed releases to Hardwell new music (and his rumored second album).
Other great performances that captivated the UMF stages for me were NWYR (W&W’s trance alias), Tiesto, David Guetta and DJ Snake.
